February 2026: The Friends group of volunteers, along with Park staff, have been working hard clearing the land south of Dorn Creek. If you’ve walked along the North Mendota Bike Path near Dorn Creek, you may have noticed a lot of piles of brush and downed trees. Volunteers have been clearing dead and diseased trees along with invasive species, such as buckthorn. The piles were safely burned and the clearing will now give way to planting prairie seeds this Spring! Below are some photos and videos of the work that was done.
