January 2026: Fred Anderson, one of the founding Board members of the Friends of Governor Nelson State Park, passed away on January 18, 2026. Fred not only served on the Board but was also an active volunteer at the Park. Here is his obituary. Fred requested that memorial contributions be made to the Friends of Governor Nelson State Park and/or Olbrich Gardens. His wife, Maren, said that Fred “loved working with both organizations”.
