June 2026: Camp Indianola was a prominent boys’ summer camp located on the northwestern shores of Lake Mendota in what is now Governor Nelson State Park and operated from the 1920s until 1967. It was one of the oldest camps in the state and hosted hundreds of boys throughout the years (including a young Orson Welles and Weekend Edition host Scott Simon).
